Comparing Rail Networks

As I have been travelling to different cities on my mini-retirement, I’ve found it interesting to compare how people get around differently in each one.

Some cities like Ho Chi Minh Vietnam, have no rail system and rely heavily on bus, motorbike, and car. While others like Tokyo are rail heavy allowing you to get anywhere by train.

I think how a city integrates rail transit is a major factor to urban livability that I’ll be exploring in a future post.

For now, here’s some high contrast rail networks for your eyes to feast on.

Bangkok, Thailand

Tokyo, Japan

London, England

New York, USA

Sydney

The greatest of them all 🙇‍♂️

Beijing, China

Paris, France
